Having finally got around to trying ZT2 I'm quite happy to say it was a good experience (saving a few confusions regarding the original rules basically because none of us had read them for a while and we were making it up as we went along!). There was just a question or two about using cars that I came up with though:
- The one that bothered me most was about cars acting as barricade spaces against zombies when parked in front of houses. This all sounded fair enough until players started standing on the same spaces as cars parked in front of buildings to avoid zombies being able to reach them. They were not getting in the cars and did not own them, they were just hiding on the same space to avoid a zombie moving onto them. Is this right?
Surely a car acting as a barricade only works by stopping zombies from; A)entering a building from the space containing the car, whilst B)keeping zombies on that same space from adding to the number needed to brake down the barricades on the house. It doesn't actually stop zombies moving onto the space, does it?
- The other question was if you start off your turn in a car with zombies around it (not enough to brake in) what happens when you move? Do you have to hit and run down the zombies on your space first before moving, or do you just move off and leave them all in the dust? Ie- If you wanted to move your car from a space with three zombies would you have to run down the three and take that much damage on your car to move or just move straight off? I'd appreciate an clarification from Kerry, but anyone else is welcome to chime in with how they play it. Cheers.

I didn't realise how old this expansion is, and you hadn't got a reply in a year, and is it worth me dragging this thread to the here and now? Well here goes.
I've not even got ZT2 yet, but using my own logic I agree with you about the barricade stopping zeds from entering and preventing the numbers from breaking a barricade. A player standing on top of the car should still have to fight a zombie. Think about it this way - in the real world, if you stand on top of a car then unless it's a dirty great 4x4 monster truck, someone can easily make a grab for your legs - you're just not high enough up, so a zombie could certainly lurch a la Romero movies and grab your ankles! IMHO.
EDIT - If you move the car whilst the zeds are next to it then the car would just push them out of the way/run over them and not take a lot of damage - you haven't hit the buggers at 30+mph! Cheers, Diff

I'm sorry I didn't see this. Feel free to email me personally for answers to any of our games. I don't frequent these forums for games after the initial release. Unfortunately, a few people make them very unfriendly.
But, if I'm understanding what you are saying, people can't hide behind cars to avoid zombies. You are either inside the car or inside the house in order to stop zombies from attacking you. And you are only inside the car without having to defend until the number of zombies exceed the remaining possible damage on the car.
Does that make sense?
So, kick these people out of your driveway. They shouldn't be there to begin with.
The car doesn't prevent zombies from entering the space at all. It just barricades the house from zombies entering the house by that square.
As far as your last question, you leave the zombies in the dust. Of course you can move to the next space and then backup and run them over.
Email me personally at kerry.b@fuse.net if you have further questions so I don't miss these in the future.
Take Care,
Kerry

Thanks for your attempt to reply Difflock, but since when did the "real world" ever come into count when playing a board game!? Lol! You obviously haven't played Descent before! With that game you basically take real life logic and whatever would be the complete opposite will be the correct ruling! Although thanks once again.

Thank you for the clarification Kerry, and thanks for still flicking through the BGG pages every-so-often despite bad press you might get. We BGGs can be knobs somtimes, but some of us still appreciate both your time and efforts.
