I strongly recommend to play with the Zombie horde option from Growing Hunger (21 Zombies) as 14 zombies are simply not enough to cover the board. Even the option with the red one-time zombies doesn't work.
The Zombie player has no chance of winning without 21 Zombies.
If you use all 21 the scenario is greaaaaaat!!!!!

i have not tried it yet with 21 zombies, but i think that is probably a good idea. i've run it through a couple of times, and the ability of the heroes spread out and outrun the zombies is just infuriating. it takes quite a few zombies to trap a determined hero player that has no need to search. alternately, the heroes can "hunker down" together in a good building (gun shop), and just wait it out until morning.

in our games, the zombies usually win (60%), so this scenario really surprised me. i like the cards and the idea of the scenario, it might just need more zombies.

I would have to agree. I am usually the zombie player but I played heroes on this one the first time we played thinking it would be a great challenge. I breezed pretty easily. 21 zombies is a good solution!

Based on The Tickler's suggestion, when my family played this scenario last night we used all 21 zombies. I'm glad we did. Early in the game the zombie player had a very difficult time cornering the heroes. I can only imagine how frustrating it would have been if they were only playing with 14 zombies. In addition, we played with the Exploration Markers (including the two x1 and x2 Surprise Attacks and the Free Hero). We fould the hero early on which greatly helped the heroes, and two of the Surprise attacks didn't work because all of the zombies were already on the board. Still, in the last few turns the heroes were completely surrounded, but the zombies just couldn't close in fast enough. I highly recommend using all 21 zombies in this scenario.

Heroes get obliterated in this scenario for me with just 14 zombies from what I've found, this is playing against good hero players too.

I have both games LNOE and GH I had to order 14 more zombies cause the last couple times we played I ran out of zombies!!!
I wanted to get 21 extra but they only had the 14 pack(green and brown) up for order right now.So that will have to do for now.

We always play with Grave Dead and free searches and it seems fine.

I have yet to see the Zombies win this scenario. I've played it five times now and the zombies don't even come close to winning. Today the heroes adjusted their goal to not let ANY heroes die. I finally ended up cornering and killing three of them with the Sun Track Marker at 2. We always use 21 zombies and exploration markers. Any other suggestions as to what I can do to help the zombies out?
