The unsolved mystery of The Golden Meeple microbadge () has been well documented here and here. There are a few other mysterious microbadges such as the Copper/Silver/Gold Game Collector ( ) and the BGG Regular () and BGG Veteran (), as detailed here. I've also seen mention of the mysterious Golden Camel microbadge () although only a couple of times. I look forward to the time when I will reach enlightenment and discover the meaning of these great signs of BGGdom.

But here's a new mystery that even Mr Google himself hasn't stumbled across previously on BGG, the pink Elephant Stamp from Melissa! () What is it? How does one get it? Where does it come from? Why does it exist? What does it mean? Is it the first sign of a conspiracy? A coup? A nightmare? A delusion? A cult? The urgent and pressing questions quickly begin to pile up one after the other, and another unsolved mystery rapidly begins to knot its way onto the threads among the Great Board Game Geek, and torment the curious among the masses of Gaming Geekdom...

Any clues, anyone? A hint? Perhaps even a sniff of a clue? A theory? An explanation? Perhaps together we can begin to solve this most delicious mystery.

It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. And we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

You know, they say there was a man who jumped from the forty-FIFTH floor? But that's another story...

Having the Golden Meeple Microbadge myself all I can figure is that in order to get the pink elephant stamp you need to save Melissa's life.

The thought that comes to my mind is: "What happens at Essen stays at Essen." We may not want to know how you "earn" the pink Elephant Stamp from Melissa!

A theory?

Notwithstanding the 'pink-elephant-seen-in-Essen' theory, I have a less titillating idea to propose. October was Cancer Awareness Month for a very specific body part (or parts blush ). Pink is the theme color for that kind of cancer awareness.
Just trying to keep you abreast of another possibility for the meaning behind...the pink elephant.

But then ... essentially Melissa gave it out to people she already knew sorta, or something like that, so it never really got used the way she originally intended.

(Edit: It was designed and first awarded back in April.)

Yep that was 12 Power Grid maps back to back over two days. Worth doing, but possibly not in such a concentrated burst.

This from the woman who claimed that a card game "didn't really feel like we were making poison at all".

Be afraid.

Maybe I'll create a nice little Mouse microbadge (a little mouse peeking around a gamebox), ask Aldie if I can give it away to people who made me laugh and own at least one game that has mice in it.

PS: don't tell anyone, it's supposed to be a secret society of mice.

Holy wah! This is an expensive place to put random crap! And further, please DO NOT FIX GeekQuestions tipping** OR thumb counts. Both are a critical part of its charm (such as it is). ** Except for Purplewurple who totally deserves it!

Look out! Look out!
Pink elephants on parade
Here they come!
Hippety hoppety
They're here and there
Pink elephants ev'rywhere
Look out! Look out!
They're walking around the bed
On their head
Clippety cloppety
Arrayed in braid
Pink elephants on parade
What'll I do? What'll I do?
What an unusual view!
I could stand the sight of worms
And look at microscopic germs
But technicolour pachyderms
Is really much for me
I am not the type to faint
When things are odd or things
are quaint
But seeing things you know that ain't
Can certainly give you an awful fright!
What a sight!
Chase 'em away!
Chase 'em away!
I'm afraid, need your aid
Pink elephants on parade!

Are elephants also afraid of the dread Cthulhu? They should be.

Ah, Disney! What memories...being 4 years old, having never seen the movie Dumbo...being locked in my sister's room on a dark, rainy day with my sister blaring this new Disney record with this unsettling, nay, scary song blasting over and over again into my pre-adolecent, impressionable mind with its overactive imagination ...thanks for the memories (pink elephants or not)

Reminds me of an endless German kindergarden sond with lots of fun activities for the kids. The seem to like it - and it rhymes at least in German. Some vids includes below to give you all a big smile.

"Was müssen das für Bäume sein, wo die großen
Elefanten spazieren gehn ohne sich zu stoßen
rechts sind Bäume, links sind Bäume
und da zwischen Zwischenräume,
wo die großen Elefanten spazieren gehn, ohne sich stoßen
rechts sind Bäume, links sind Bäume
und da zwischen Zwischenräume,
...."

[url] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzqaWYoNGWA[url]

which means something like

"What kinda trees have to be there, where the big
elephants roam around without bumping into them them,
there are trees on the right, trees on the left,
an spaces in between,
where the big elephants roam around without bumping into them them,
there are trees on the right, trees on the left,
an spaces in between,
where the big elephants roam around without bumping into them them,
there are trees on the right, trees on the left,
an spaces in between,
