Life has been craaaazy busy -- I feel bad for dropping out of chit-chat for the past month or so. I've missed talking with you all. New baby on the way, new job, and new game has kept me hopping.

But since I'm here, this might be a good time to plug the latest news update on my game publishing efforts:
Some good news...

I'll definitely try to do better to keep you all posted -- I really appreciate how supportive the WW community has been thus far. You guys rock!

So has this video already been posted here yet? Because it's fantastic.

Basically -- this TV show has a part with a fairly straight Prisoner's Dilemma put into it, and it's great to see it play out:

I think it is kinda funny that they both look at BOTH balls, really if you look at one you know what the other says, no need to actually look at it, unless you don't trust the people running the game to actually give you two different balls.

Maybe I'll start a thread about campus hijinx.

There was a game show on the Game Show Network similar to this in the US called Friend or Foe. At the end, the winning team would go to the "Trust Box" to choose Friend or Foe, with Foe being the "Steal" and Friend being the "Split".

I watched the show a bit, it was interesting to see. From what I saw, completely anecdotally, generally if the two people were of the same sex, more often than not they either both picked Friend or both picked Foe.

However, when the contestants were of opposite sexes, it seemed more common to me to see one go Friend and one go Foe - either the guy was smooth and convinced the girl to go Friend while he went Foe, or the girl was, and convinced the guy to go Friend while she went Foe.

However, that was all anecdotal, if you look at the actual results, a team consisting of two women chose Friend 50% of the time, while two men did so less often (around 40-45%), similar to the rate at which both men and women did in male/female teams.

One thing that data showed is that male-male teams often had far more money won than female-female teams or male-female teams. The average male-male team that won the game went to the final decision with 70% more money than the average female-female team, and 40% more money than the average male-female team, which may have led to them making different decisions - it'd be interesting to see whether or not male-male or male-female teams that earned closer to what the female-female teams did would have decided to split more often.

I think the last line is funny where after it's all said and done, Abraham says he's going to use the money to respray(?) his yacht and the other dude turns surprised.

I hadn't watched all the way to the end, this made me go back and that was hillarious! That one guy is now thinking "really should have picked steal"

All in all it was an elegant solution to the uncertainty of the situation. The only thing he had to hope was that he didn't get someone who would just go "well then fine, neither of us will get anything then"

My biggest question about that video is whether he would have picked a different ball if his partner/opponent had reacted differently.

For some reason, I'm cracking myself up this morning. See, I say the jokes I say and make the posts I make because I make myself laugh. If anyone else thinks it's funny too, then that's just bonus. But today, I'm not even sure why I think this is so funny. Here is my reply to an old friend's Facebook post (it's kinda risky because this girl hasn't seen me since HS and has no idea what my temperament is like).

Her: I almost forgot - there's a tranny working the super early morning drive thru at the Del Taco by my office. Just in case anyone cares to know for tomorrow morning.

(a few random comments from people I don't know)

Goo: Imma go there and get a wet burrito!

(10 minutes of no more replies... crickets)

Goo: Wait, did you mean "trainee?" Because, then never mind.
