The Transmogrification power allows a Munchkin to put any cards in play back into their hand (except during combat), as long as it doesn't exceed the maximum card count they are allowed to have.

When I first encountered this power, I didn't think there was much strategic use to it. I couldn't see any reason why I would want to take any cards out of play other than discarding them. However, I have seen some interesting uses of this card:

Vampire/Other Race switch: Keep any race except the Vampire in play. If you have a Go Up A Level card, on your turn and after combat, use Transmogrification to put your race card back into your hand, play the Vampire card, use the Go Up A Level card and steal a level from someone, then use Transmogrification to put the Vampire card back into your hand and play your original race card. In summary, you use your main race the majority of the time, but when you want to use a GUAL card you can switch to Vampire briefly in order to steal the level, and then switch back right after.
