No school again today. Not a snow day really, but rather a day of temps at 17 below, wind chill of 35 below and wind causing "near white out conditions" as closed school today. We decided to play some games, then watch a movie while I have some homework that I should get done.

The girls and I are home so we each picked two games. I picked Blokus 3D and Hey, That's My Fish!. Madeline picked Jumpin' Monkeys and Viva Topo!. Olivia picked Sequence for Kids and O Zoo le Mio.

We played two games of Viva Topo. With a three player game the cat starts a few spaces ahead, but with only three people rolling the dice it is supposed to be the same. However, teh cat was on us quick. We each got all five of our mice out with the cat only moving two spaces, but then the little fur ball started running. The really bad part of rolling the cat is that your mou8se only gets to move one space. As the cat came around all three of us had to duck one of our mice out into the first 1 cheese piece hole. Something we normally try to avoid. Just a couple turns later the mouse was moving up and took his first victims, two mice. I quickly ducked one of my remaining mice intot he two cheese hole. The cat moved again getting one more mouse. Madeline and Olivia each put one of their mice intot he two chees hole as well. At this point we each have three pieces of cheese and two mice left. On my next turn I am able to get one of my mice into the three cheese piece space, and Olivia gets one of hers into the four cheese space. Madeline plays it gutsy and rolls a one/cat taking both Olivia and my last mice, leaving both of her pieces in striking distance of the cat. Olivia and I both have non cat rolls and Madeline rolls a five putting her mouse into cheesetopia. Olivia's next roll gets Madeline's last mouse.
Final score:
Cat: 6 mice
Madeline: 9 cheese pieces
Olivia: 7 cheese pieces
me: 6 cheese pieces.

The game went fast, so we played a second. This time the cat was very mean and moved much quicker. Madeline and I each got a mouse into the first twoholes getting us three pieces. Olivia had one mouse out front, but the cat came through and took many victims. Olivia just out ran the cat with her one remaining mouse. Madeline and I both scored two mice, while Olivia only scored one mouse.
Final score of game two:
Cat: 10 mice
Olivia: 6 pieces of cheese
Madeline: 3 pieces of cheese
me: 3 pieces of cheese

Thanks for reading. Stay warm.
Cheers,
Dan
