Who is Alan Moon? How old are you, what do you like to do when you are not playing or creating games?
I am 57. I enjoy walking, swimming, reading, going to the movies, going to the casino, and going on cruises. But what I enjoy most is socializing and playing games with my friends.

How did you discover you are a Game Designer and you can survive creating games?
I actually discovered I wanted to be a game designer when I went to work for Avalon Hill in 1979. I was supposed to takeover the job of editor of The General magazine, but when I started working on games, I found that was much more fun.

Your most success title is the Ticket to Ride series but, you have a lot of games in your portfolio. What titles do you can point as your preferred creations?
For years, my favorite of my own designs was WER HAT MEHR (later published as WHERE'S BOB HAT by Rio Grande). I still enjoy that when I play it, but my favorites now are TICKET TO RIDE (I particularly like the SWITZERLAND map), the 10 DAYS Series (10 DAYS IN AFRICA is my favorite), CAPITOL (which is being republished as SKYLINE 3000 by Z-Man Games), WALK THE DOGS, and INCAN GOLD.

Do you know you and your games have a huge number of players/fans in Portugal and Brazil?
I was not really aware of this. Most of the time, the news is about games and gamers in Germany and the United States. But I am happy to hear there are lots of people playing games in Portugal and Brazil, and I hope there will be more every year!

Do you think about a future game project like Ticket to Ride Brazil?
You should write to Days Of Wonder and suggest it. If they would publish it, I would be happy to create a Brazil game.

What (and why) is your preferred game (not from your creations)?
My favorite games are DESCENT: JOURNEYS IN THE DARK and Poker. I could probably one or the other on alternate days for many years and still enjoy them as much. My other favorite games are CARCASSONNE: HUNTERS & GATHERERS, ADEL VERPFLICHTET, COSMIC EIDEX, MYSTERY RUMMY: JACK THE RIPPER, THURN & TAXIS, CROKINOLE, FAIRY TALE, and VIKINGS. I've also been very impressed by two amazing family games in the last year: FLUCH DER MUMIE and FITS.

What words you want to leave for Portuguese language players?
Please introduce as many new people to the wonderful world of games. It's a great way to make new friends and strengthen ties with existing friends.
