Just finished my first session of RSBS. I created a new class of fighter the "Pankration) fighter. He basically is treated like a Dimachaerus but he has two armored forearms (for blocking), has spiked gloves for striking, and can use net attacks (to simulate takedowns)from one 1" away.

I didnt took extremley detailed notes but here is the rundown...

OPPONENT
MURMILLO (LARGE SHIELD + SWORD)

-We advance towards eachother cautiously.
-After a few turns we get close enough and I charge in for a takedown.
-The Murmillo passed 1 more d1o than me so I dont get the takedown and we both burn 1 die.
-He goes for a bash attack. We both fail our rep checks so we remain locked in battle.
-I win the initiative.
-I flank him to his right (non sheild side).
-I pass 1 more die so he turns to face me but burns one die.
-I see my opening and take a swing. I pass two more die than and land a spiked hook right into his left shoudler. He burns 2 die.
-He doesnt seem to happy and thrusts his sword right at me.
-Since I was slightly ahead of him I decide to only burn two dice to his 3.
-He passes 2 I pass nothin.
-The sword is heading right for my belly.
-Luckily I have armor there.
-Unluckily I botch my armor roll.
-The blade punctures right through my armor and through my belly.
-On an roll of 1....I DIE!!!

Though I got disemboweled pretty quickly this was a ton of fun. The dice burning and NPC AI make it very strategic aqnd tense. I will try again and see if I do any better.
