Goadrich Games ( http://games.goadrich.com ) proudly presents a limited reprint of:
Gene Pool : The DNA Card Game! http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/23931
Since publishing Gene Pool three years ago, I've finished grad school, moved, and found a new teaching job that I love, but it left me with much less time than I wished for publishing and designing games.
Life has finally calmed down somewhat, and besides being really excited to have Nanuk published this November by Steve Jackson Games, I always hoped to be able to reprint Gene Pool. Your emails and forum posts have been very encouraging, and having finally found an economical and efficient solution with SuperiorPOD (no more hand-punching of cards), I'm happy to announce the wait will soon be over!
Description
From the box description: "Join the fight against rare genetic diseases by becoming a DNA engineer in this new fast-paced mind-bending card game! Use strategy and spatial thinking to mutate, invert, delete and insert your way to success. Gene Pool is a card game for two players, ages 10 and up, and takes about 20 minutes to play."
Gene Pool is being published again as a limited edition of around 200 copies, and will be available for purchase from the Goadrich Games website ( http://games.goadrich.com ) at the beginning of October 2009. MSRP for Gene Pool is $9, + $2 for shipping and handling in the US, more for international orders. More information will be posted when the game is available for ordering.
Review and Comment Highlights
Shannon Appelcline
United States Berkeley California
"Gene Pool is a short, clever 2-player card game that fits into the same niche as Balloon Cup and other light head-to-head card games, but its gameplay is largely original. If you regularly play two player games, I suggest picking this up..."
N/A "The game has a built-in educational appeal, but unlike many games designed for didactic purposes, Gene Pool is actually fun. Who knew such a thing was possible?"

"[Gene Pool] is a game that promotes science – specifically genetics – and is easily portable, sets up and is explained quickly, and rather fun for the short time it takes up."
Alexander Zhang
United States West Haven Connecticut
"In Gene Pool, you've got a tight, fast game which begs for the players to think different... and throws some education around as well."
Goodwin
Lynchburg Virginia
"Fast, but thoughtful game play. An odd theme, but it is completely integral to the game mechanics, and it works."
Additional Information
Goadrich Games will donate $1 from each game purchased to the National Organization for Rare Disorders ( http://rarediseases.org ).

This is fantastic! I owned this game for awhile and will gladly purchase another, if not more than one!

I've been overwhelmed by the response to my news about reprinting Gene Pool in October, thank you! Many people have been asking about preorders, and while I didn't think they would be necessary, (I assumed people had forgotten about the game and it would need some marketing again) now I'm not so sure.
So that I can better judge demand and to try and be fair and allow everyone to have a chance to purchase a copy, I have set up a preorder form at
http://tinyurl.com/genepool
Please fill out this form to reserve a copy. There is currently a limit of 2 copies per address. You are not obligated to purchase a copy; if you do not order within a week of receiving the email, your reserved copies will be returned to the general pool. Orders will be fulfilled in order using when you fill out this form. If more than 200 copies are preordered, I will make every effort to print more copies in a timely manner.
Thanks again,
Mark

Mark, is it $4 international per copy, or $4 total if you order two?
