I've only just recently acquired a copy of MQ1 which had all the parts of MQ2 mixed in with it.

I haven't played it yet, so my questions is: Should I separate the two sets before playing the first time? Is it worth playing the original game in its pure form before adding MQ2?

It would take a long time to do the separation and I'll probably mix them back in later anyway, so is it worth the hassle?

Separate them? Would you take the Mona Lisa from her chair? Laurel from Hardy? Puppies from Children??? Nay, verily I say the expansion is good and just and separation diminishes the whole.

What Robert said! I checked the games you've played, and you won't have any problem with the additional rules from the expansion. I'd also recommend your first game with only 2-3 players. And, when you explore, go around the Entrance in a circle -- makes it easier to come back when you're ready to leave the dungeon!
