When you play a five-player game with the 1910 tickets, you get a tight game. With completing the most number of tickets worth a 15 point bonus, this game saw Randy, Rich and me drawing a lot of tickets. I ended up with six completed tickets, Rich had eight tickets (six completed) and Randy a similar number.
Mel and Josh didn't have so many tickets. In fact, Josh somehow managed to have four tickets and only completed two, for a net gain of 9 points. Not surprisingly, he wasn't in the running for victory.
My final turns with this game were fraught: I needed two black cards to complete my sixth ticket, and black cards just weren't coming up. On the penultimate turn of the game, I drew two cards from the top of the deck - and both were black! Hooray! With Josh ending the game (using his last trains), I was able to claim the Nashville route and finish all my tickets. If I hadn't done that, I would have been 29 points weaker than my final score - and the game would have gone to Randy.
Final scores: Merric (green) 151 Randy (black) 125 Rich (red) 121 Mel (yellow) 98 Josh (blue) 82
An enjoyable - if tense - game of Ticket to Ride 1910. The game took us about an hour to play.
