Hi all, I'm just getting in to Blood Bowl and was wondering if I should get Death Zone or has it all been absorbed into LRB5?

Cheers.

If you just get the LRB you should be OK. You can get the play cards, etc.

The cards in DeathZone were a lot of fun, because every team would draw a few every game.

With the new LRB, only teams playing against stronger teams get those cards, which makes the game more predictable. But as long as you have a poker deck, you can use it as a proxy for the cards (BB cards are sorted in hearts, spades, etc. in the same way as poker cards; you can see it in the LRB).

My advice is to download the latest LRB and begin from the there. If you really like the game, you can buy DeathZone as a collector, because I don't know anyone who is still playing that version...

I'd suggest getting the original card text even if you don't pick up the box.

The LRB cards are more "balanced" (read: less fun). Then again, I'm in the minority who never thought BB was supposed to be "balanced".
