Has anyone got some tips on how to get the 45-degree curves to align properly when building a track? Even using the excellent PitchCar TrackBuilder, it can be quite a challenge.

Speaking of challenges, let's turn it into a puzzle. It should be a cakewalk for all the pro track-builders out there, right? And perhaps get us newbies started on building up some nice designs...

So for each of the following images, try to build a track that completes the loop...

When using 45-degree curves you add an displacement which shifts you out of the grid of the common parts. Always build a second section which compensates for that displacement. E.g. if you build a track section twice it will have the same displacement:
