Over Thanksgiving I played Tactics II game with my kids, nephew, and my sister who lives 200 miles away, for the first time in 40 years. We used to play it as kids with my father who died 8 years ago. It was fun. It took us 8 hours to play the game, with no replacements...but it was a rainy day anyway. My nephew kept trying to sue for peace.

So, how can I play it again? Has anyone created a computer version which would make it much quicker to play, and allow us to play on line instead of only on the rare occaisons we're in the same city?

There's a VASSAL module. Go to http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php, click on 'modules' in the upper left, and you'll get a list, in alphabetical order, of all the modules which can be downloaded from that site.

I was stunned at how long the game took, not the way it was played.
