Are ALL the islands "Connected"? | 10 Days in Asia

In the rules is says that all the island countries are considered connected and it gives an example that you can walk from Malaysia to Indonesia.

Does that mean that you can walk from ANY island country to any other island country? Could you walk from Sri Lanka to Taiwan? Is Japan considered an Island country?

What the rule is saying that all islands that are part of a SINGLE country are considered connected. For example all the islands of Indonesia are connected.
