Quote: Oh and still only answering certain points I see!
Eco-friendliness of the products??
My idea about Expansion specific web-only add-ons??
None of these took your interest?? I'm not your personal instructor (though I'm sure with everything I've corrected you on, it seems that way). Sometimes I'm not in the mood to respond to every poorly conceived thought that you type out.
Eco-friendly products? I go through three cardboard cereal boxes each week. What do I care if FFP uses a little extra cardboard when releasing their products? If you want help with the world's cardboard box shortage, start with Kellogg's.
Expansion specific web-only add-ons? If it's a good idea, I'm sure that FFP already has it in the works. You know, since they've been planning their games and subsequent releases for five or so years now.
We get it. You don't generally think board game add-ons are worth your money:
Quote: Just so you know, I do not own Heroscape because I felt that the price of the booster sets etc. were exorbitant! So didn't buy the base set.
Same reason I don't own Heroclix, Wings of War, Star Wars miniatures etc.
I own Arkham Horror (which was kindly given to me as a Birthday present) but only own the big box expansions, as I feel the small box ones are not worth the money I would have to pay.
So, it looks like I will have to go the same route with FFP's products - pick and choose the ones which I feel are worth the money and ignore the rest. I seem to be alone in those feelings, so it shouldn't effect FFP's profit-margin too much. I'm glad that you were able to find an outlet to vent your frustrations.

I like LNOE, but when I saw all three sets in the FLGS, I decided not to buy any of them, best part of sixty pounds was too rich for me, would rather by something else with that money. I might have gone for 1 boxed expansion, three small ones felt like a cash in, didnt seem to be enough content in the small boxes, you can tell me I'm wrong but it still wont make me buy them expansions.

The question - "What are you really angry about deep down?" - springs to mind.
Oh and about Kellogs:

Just so you know.

So you're saying that as long as the boxes are made from recycled content, then it's more eco-friendly? Good, because the boxes that Flying Frog uses are also made from recycled products. You can tell this based on the color of the interior of the box. If it's grey, then it's recycled. Brown or white means that it's probably from new trees.
If you take the time to look in the box, it's pretty obvious that it's made from recycled paper.
Edit: My original comment about Kellogg's was not referring to whether their boxes are made from recycled products, but the fact that they produce millions of cardboard boxes (whether produced from recycled goods or not) that will probably make their way to landfills and not into recycling programs. So if you want to save the environment, email Kellogg's and have them reduce their unnecessary packaging.
It's been fun discussing this topic, but I think I'm done. Here is my basic argument.
I think the high prices in the UK are based on two things: A) High import duties charged by the UK on US goods. B) High shipping prices from the US to the UK.
If you lived in the US, you could get all three expansions for $56 (+$9 shipping), for a total of $65.00.
If you live in the UK, you're paying close to $90.
I don't see why Flying Frog is being accused of ripping people off or "cashing in", when it's obvious that it's the shipping companies and the UK government that are inflating the prices of these expansions in the UK. Again, this is evidenced by the fact if you lived in the US, you could get them for much cheaper.
If you don't purchase these expansions I assure you that it's your loss.
I'm done.

I know I am a little late to this discussion, however....
I agree with James. Today I purchased the Zombies with Weapons and what a rip off! Complete and total rip off. What a waste of money.
Don't tell me you can pick and choose which expansions you want to buy, bulls*@t. I paid $25 at a local convention (at a vendor to support the convention) and was so let down upon opening the box. You get the miniatures, two cards (identical), two tokens (identical) and one sheet of paper for rules.
Here is the kicker, this expansion is pretty much useless (except for visual variety) unless you purchase the Survival of the Fittest expansion. There are not even rules for using the miniatures in the box!! The box states that you only need the base game to use the expansion. What a crock! The rules page inside (which you cannot read until you buy it and open it) says you need SotF in order to use the rules for the miniatures.
Stupid me for buying something without researching it online first. Never again Flying Frog...never again. I will certainly be a lot more careful before buying any of your products again.
Peace

Well put! I tried raising this in a separate post (Open Letter to Flying Frog Sure: the company makes good games, but blindly defending them against all kinds of criticism - why? Splitting the expansions into three boxes is CLEARLY a marketing stunt - and it's a little sad to see people defend this decision with the 'they did it for us' argument. No the didn't. They did it to make money. Of course those who like their products - like me (I'm a great fan, really) - wants FFP to make money so that they can release more quality products. But I completely agree with Brent - the Grave weapon expansion is too obviousl a rip off. Four of the 11 different grave weapon zombies are note even represented as miniatures - Pfft! And it is USELESS unless you own SotF. It's expansion to an expansion, come on! That my, fellow geeks, should not be supported, but frowned opun by the critical consumer.

I agree with you guys. I dont wanna start a rampage or anything, and I really like LNOE and have almost everything they made for the game..
Bought the SoF a week ago. Money really well spent! I got a lot of goodies and great new rules, so naturally it came to my mind that I wanted the grave weapons and heroes as well. But after I thought about it for a little time I came to this realization.. I was about to spend 200kr (33 U.S dollars) on a single new grave weapon. cause really folks that is all that you get, if you already owns the SoF. The thing is that, and I believe a lot of fellow geeks will agree on this, I wannna own the weapon minis, because it allows me the oportunity to exhange the mildly anoying counters with cool looking minis, and who wouldn't wanna pay for that?! But when you pay a fair amount of money and you still ends up using a lot of GW counters, then it kinda seems like the only thing you are actually getting is the new crawling GW.. Where is the Grave dead armed versions? Where are the last weapons? I would gladly pay a little extra if a got a complete set, but for now Im spending my money on the Hero pack instead. I know I gonna get something for my money there.

Darn. Why didn't I read this post before I ordered this expansion :-)
I'm kind of ambivalent about it so far. As a completist, I love the set. And I certainly don't mind supporting both Flying Frog and my FLGS.
But, it would have been nice if their had been another scenario or something in the box. And now, as a completist, I have to decide if I should order the red zombies with grave weapons. And the radioactive ones.
:-)
Anyone wanna trade my grave weapon figures for some purple and black regular zombies?
