Introduction
Hello to everyone who might happen to read this. My name is Raiko and I have a little session report here I want to write to you about. About the title - on the 18th of February I had 100 days left to serve my country in the army, so I decided to play a game every day and then write a session about them. You can read them all in the Geeklist Geeklist Project: 100 days left to serve in the army!. For my 32nd game I played Ticket To Ride: The Card Game. I was kinda hoping something like the board game, but found something different.
The Game
We played that game with four players. I am a big Ticket To Ride fan, as a lot of people I guess, so this is why I bought the game. I was hoping to be more like Ticket To Ride than it actually was. Every one I play a game with know that I have photographic memory, so they figured already before the game, that I win it, but the game isn't only built on a memory, there are so much more aspects in this one. The four players were: Raiko (me), Henrik, Priit and Rivo. Only me and Henrik have played Ticket To Ride before, others had no idea what the game was about so for them, the game was just another card game. The card game reminds me a lot of other card games, but there ares till some of the gloominess that Ticket To Ride as a board game has. While playing the card game, there are some advantages of being last and of being first. Henrik was the youngest and therefore the first player. I was the second in line and Priit was the last. It was really annoying, that people can remove your cards. You have no use of these cards at all, just a big waste of time. And what kinda made me angry was the memory aspect. It is useful to have good memory, but earlier when Martti and Henrik played the game, then Martti just went with the quantity. He got as many cards down as possible and took tickets on the way. He scored over 150 points that way (that is already with minuses), so no memory is actually needed. Good mind just slows you down with this one. I remembered every card and ticket. I knew always what I needed and what I had, but still, in the end, there were no point in it, I still got nothing. The final score for this little disappointing card game: Henrik - 36 points Dallas - Washington (10) LA - NY (-20) Chicago - Montreal (-14) Chicago - San Fransisco (16) Chicago - Calgary (13) Seattle - Dallas (16) Dallas (10) Chicago (12)
Raiko - 41 points Seattle - Atlanta (17) NY - Chicago (-5) Chicago - Santa Fe (9) Los Angeles - Vancouver (10) LA - Pittsburgh (18) LA - Houston (-11) Seattle - LA (-9) LA (12)
Rivo - 72 points Chicago - Miami (10) LA - Troulth (14) Seattle - Phoenix (12) Dallas - Helena (10) Seattle - Denver (10) Miami (8) Seattle (8)
Priit - 26 points LA - Dallas (10) Seattle - Chicago (15) NY - Miami (-10) Miami - LV (20) Dallas - Raleigh (-8) Dallas - Miami (-9) Miami (8)
This beautiful looking game is playable, but no more than maybe two games in a row. Others loved the game thought. So this was my 32nd game in the series. Only 68 more to go. Til next time!

Me too. I got the game as a gift recently and have only played a single, two-player game of it. My friends and I are T2R veterans of the US and European maps and the expansions for both and the mechanics of the card game really threw us. We thought it was a good game, but I did not care much for having to remember what wagon cards you have in your posession and what tickets they were to be used for.
I made a short session report a few months back and I thought you might find some interest in the comments I received. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/483441/ticket-to-ride-ca...
Congrats on your upcoming discharge!
