A newer re-vamped edition of Junkyard Races will be out later on this year (2010).
Please go to http://www.gen42.com/junkyard-races for more information about this new and exciting game.
Basically it is a 2-8 player board game where you crazily race your karts around the board. The first player to go around the board 5 times is the overall winner. There are 2 exciting tracks to choose from by reversing the board to reveal them. Racing around the track is not as straightforward as you may think as your opponent will lay down various dastardly traps to slow your kart right down and even bump you into the cold icy stream, thus putting you behind the race. You now need to play strategically to catch up and hopefully win the race.
I have to say, this is a really addictive and extremely fun packed game.

Sometime later on this year, but no specific date is mentioned.
It will be announced on the Gen42 website ( www.gen42.com) and via their e-newsletters first.

I got a chance to play this game at BGG.CON 2010 (thanks to those who made sure there was a copy in the BGG.CON library). I enjoyed how this style of racing game felt more like Mario Kart (one of my favorite video game series) than any other racing board game that I have tried. The randomness created by the dice rolls made events a bit unpredictable and the weapons and attachments available for the cars gave me enough choices that I did not feel controlled by the randomness of the dice. My first play of the game was quite memorable after my opponent got stuck in the mud on the last lap. I was behind but flew past my opponent and the finish line with a roll of 18 on the 3 dice that I was able to roll from the dry road for the win!
It was a crazy chaotic race. Fun stuff! My opponent did not feel cheated by the dice. This was a light hearted, fun race.
So, can we get an update as to when the new version will be available in the U.S.? I haven't heard anything new so I am suspecting we will see this after Christmas?
BTW, including the Hive advertisements on the sides of the bottom half of the box was an interesting idea. People kept walking up to our table at BGG.CON confused after seeing Hive on the box next to the race track and saying "Wait..what's this? This can't be a Hive game...what IS this?"

That's so cool we designed the box sides to draw attention to our other games, but we never predicted that it would also work in reverse.

Sadly never did get any response from Vendetta. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps a glitch in the contact form on the site
Think this game will be a blast in my gamegroup!

I'm very sorry that you have not got a response from Vendetta. One of the partners of Vendetta also has a games shop in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The shop is called THE JOKER, here is their telephone number: 0031(0)302 332 158 It might be best just to call them and order the game from them there.
Hope this is helpful Regards John

What are the differences between the old edition (Which I own) and the new?
Are parts interchangeable too? The board in the old version is terrible!

They seem to have the game in stock along with Hive Carbon and the Ladybug.

The new game is completely new, published by us (Gen42 Games). There is now a two sided board, up to 8 players (8 karts and characters), the rules have changed and the set collection and junk tiles rules also. The player kart cards have less spaces and are smaller and the junk tiles are stored on you player kart card, you can now only store up to 5 unless you buy other storage. You now collect tokens to buy parts instead of collecting parts at random. All the artwork has been redone and the new karts are very nicely made. All in all I would have to say, miles better production and a much more fun game.

Ordering from the US to Europe? When the game was made in the UK? Makes no sense... I suppose you sold all your copies in Essen, since your own publisher produced the game but they're nowhere to be found... maybe Essen 2011?

I might have missed it somewhere...but what is the diffrence between this "new" edition and the older one? I haven't played this game, but am thinking about purchasing it. I don't want to get an old version by accident, especially if there are problems, components of lesser quality, or if the new edition adds all sorts of cool stuff. How do I tell the difference?

With the current rate of the dollar, I think you will find that the price including shipping from the US will be competitive and most likely cheaper than from an european supplier. CSI have quite reasonable shipping prices to europe. I ordered from them and the total cost to Norway was ca. 55 USD, or 40 euros.

I ordered me this game, thinking it was the new edition, but to my surprise it was the old one.
I'd liked having the 8 characters & cars and the double-sided and better looking board. And buying me a new edition copy just for that would be a bit silly, no ?
