Can you mouth words? As long as you do make any sound I don't see why you could not mouth words in every round.

You *could* do a lot of things, like writing down words or spelling them out in ASL...but why would you?
Even if not against the letter of the rules (which I haven't read for quite a while, so it *could* be in there), it's certainly against the spirit of the rules.
You can play however you'd like, but that sort of thing would never fly with any group I'm aware of.

Is that not part of pantomime? Its not exactly easy to read someone lips or what they are trying to say. I do not see why that is against the spirit of the rules. You should not penalize creativity or ideas by other players.
For example you can point at objects, is that against the spirit of the rules? you can use your hands to let them know how many words are in the answer. Is that also against the sprit of the rules?
It seems the sprit of the rules should not prohibit ideas and creativty it should encourage it as long as it is not against the written rules.
That is what makes the game fun after all.

I agree with Chris. No one I play with would think that's in the spirit of the game. However, do what you (and your group) want, and if that means mouthing the names on the card then... well... go ahead, I guess.

Using the "creativity" rule suggested here, why not show your partner the card in the mirror? It's not that easy to read things backwards.
Sorry, but disguising what most of us would interpret as flat out cheating, as "creativity" is nonsense.
