Somewhere, you've got a few handfuls of boosters, a deck or two, or maybe a few big boxes of some CCG. In your closet, under the bed, in the back of the gaming shelf... and you aren't using it and don't even remember the last time you did. Admit it - it's time to liberate those old cards and see if you can't get something for them in trade!
Some Guidelines;
1) Description - You'll never get any trading done if you insist on or try to get together a complete, perfect list of everything you own! Don't even try... you'll never make the time to complete it and it will take days of your life even if you had the motivation. Instead, you've got to find a good way to describe your collection using a short paragraph. Or, even better, snap a few photos of it and upload them to you user gallery! That's a great way to give a good impression... describe more or less how you acquired it, starting on what date, going through what date... did you do a lot of trading or is it straight from the wrapper? If you can remember rough numbers of sets and such, that's the way to go.
2) Logistics - Egads! This junk (if there is a lot of it) is really heavy! And dense. You know what that means? Shipping it is going to be a royal pain in the ass... so, when you do a trade, consider that! A good rule is to trade for cards of roughly similar volume and weight where each person bears their own costs or just accept your losses and move on with life. Sadly, it's not economically feasible to ship tens of thousands of cards internationally... but if you could find someone in your area, you could arrange a pick up and drop off! That's about the best way to get this done. Consider the logistics as you work out the details.
3) Value - Sorry... this a car boot/flea market/garage sale level activity. Your old cards are wanted in trade, but nobody is going to give you anything remotely like what you spent for it at retail. If you insist on retail value, you'll never trade a damn thing, cards or not. Trading is a chance to give up something you don't want for something you do want - if you value your lot too highly, you'll never find someone that lives up to your expectations. Remember, the goal is to take something that is doing nothing for you now, a forgotten brick in the dusty corner, and try to turn that into something you'll use and love.
4) Flexibility is the golden rule of trading! Don't limit yourself to a single card from a single game for a single card for a single game. Regularly, I've traded even 10,000 cards or more for giant bulk collections of other games. And little lots are even more fun - 2 starters and 10 boosters is plenty to try out almost any game; why don't you take that stuff and try to get a copy of something new? Trade for gift certificates or board games or miniatures or what have you... I've traded for LEGOs, video game systems, and other things.
5) Negotiation is the order of the day. Don't just state an offer with a binary result. Wheel and deal, haggle... be willing to add things in or take things out, split your lots or pile on extras. Look out for yourself and don't let anyone take advantage of you, but keep an open mind and be easy going about it. If someone offers you an outrageous deal, that's an opportunity to negotiate, not get angry and stop talking. And if it doesn't work out, a polite "no thank you" keeps the door open for the future.
So, who wants to do some trading?

So, where am I at today?
Recently, I picked up a very large Vampire collection as well as a huge block of Star Wars (5000+)... sad thing is, that Vampire collection was another 10k of Jyhad through Ancient Hearts, which I already had ten of thousands of... bummer. But, that means I do have an absolutely monstrous amount of Vampire to trade, especially if you are interested in things with Jyhad on the back - still great stuff for playing the game today and Vampire cards never go out of the play format.
Recently, I've been playing Elder Dragon Highlander (that's a Magic variant) with some friends and I sure wouldn't mind backfilling my collection with older stuff - even commons and uncommons for sets I don't have are of interest. Pre-Ravnica mostly, maybe pre-Mirrodin is even better.
I've got an absolutely monstrous Doomtown collection - again, tens of thousands. Now, I love the game dearly and want to keep it or get more, but I could probably cut out a few things here or there and make quite a big playable block - thousands of cards across many sets ... that's gotta whet someone's appetite.
And there's lots more - I'm in the market to pick up all the Shadowfist I can lay hands on. I've got 1000 or so Call of Cthulhu cards including some promos I'd part with easily - great to add to your LCG stuff. I've got some old 7th Sea stuff (hundreds of cards, some still in the package) and some Legend of the Burning Sands cards I'd part with too. I'm looking to acquire Netrunner... but then who isn't? Maybe I should part with mine as I've got so much else to consider. And there is that big lot (a few thousand) Lord of the Rings cards from the early set - great game.
So, what have you got? What do you want? Let's try to do a deal.

Description: A little over half a starter box worth of Spellfire 1st Edition, and a little over half a starter box worth of Ravenloft. The packs are random so though there are duplicates, the spread of cards is fairly good. In total, it's probably around 800-900 cards. This should be enough to build several decks.
Logistics: I think I can ship this in a small flat-rate box so I'm not worried about it.
Value: I will trade for almost anything that is playable (a couple of starters, etc.)
Flexibility: Like I said, I'll trade for almost anything. Games I would like to try: Legend of the Five Rings, Doomtown, Rage, Wars, Warlords, Vampire: TES, UFS.
Otherwise, I have some 10th Edition Magic and A Game of Thrones Winter Premium Starter as sweeteners. Heck, I'll even through other games from my tradelist on the pile if someone is also interested in them.
And yes... I would like to do some trading.

You know, people give Spellfire the business for being a simple game with recycled art, but take a step back from that hasty assessment... It's easily as good a game as no end of popular, in-the-box card games we see around here - I'm looking at you Bohnanza and Lost Cities and Citadels. And that art might be recycled, true but copied from some of the best fantasy game art ever made. Spellfire has all the great D&D cache' you could want in a fun, basic game. This is a great way to enjoy it...
Good luck with this one - it deserves a good home.

Mechanically the game is decent and definitely in line with Lost Cities quality. If it had been released as a complete game instead of a CCG, it would have done a lot better IMO. My friend and I split the boxes after purchasing them from a clearance table, but somehow I ended up with most of the cards.

I'm looking for: Dragon Dice, Doomtown, Netrunner, Battletech, Corunea, Mystick Companion, Vampire/Jihad, Dreamblade, Horrorclix, Mythos, Shadowrun TCG, Spycraft, Star Wars CCG, 7th Sea, pretty much anything, I'm a ccg junky.

Description
1) A largish lot of The Wheel of Time Collectible Card Game. At least 4 starters, 2 boxes of base set boosters, and at least 1 box of Dark Prophecy boosters. It's all free of it's foily prison, but hardly played.
2) 2 sad little starters and a handful of promos for Middle-Earth
3) The contents of a dozen or so clan decks for Legend of the Five Rings. Most of them are unicorn clan, with a few scorpion for good measure. It's all 3-4 years old now, with one being even older going back to the old card back.
Logistics I'll ship if you will.
Wants Any Netrunner or Battletech. If I ever manage to draft my boxes of Wars, possible some of that to plug gaps.

Description - Around 2000-3000 WWF/WWE Raw Deal cards. More than enough to build a bunch of decent decks with.
Logistics - If you pay for shipping your stuff, I'll cover the shipping on my stuff. If you're in the Boston area or willing to drive, we could arrange to meet up and trade.
Value - It's a dead CCG, so take that for what it is. It did have a fairly large fan base at one time, though. It's a quick, fun card game with some very interesting mechanics. It really does emulate the ebb and flow of a Vince McMahon-style wrestling match.
Flexibility - I would like to trade it for Netrunner, Battletech, The Spoils, Middle-earth, or Vampire/Jyhad, but I am up for any CCG/LCG. Just PM if with your offer if you're interested.

1)
Sim City: The Card Game: I have a shoebox of cards, including the Chicago, New York, and Atlanta fixed sets and a whole mess of booster packs (~45 long cards). Unfortunately I have no promos.
Illuminati: New World Order: I have many many many Unlimited cards, a few Limited cards, two SubGenius sets, and lots of Assassins (I think I'm thirty cards shy of a full set of Assassins). I have three or four of the ultra-rares. I also have about five OWE sets mixed in there, as well as a sealed OWE if you want that separately.
Magic: The Gathering: I have a shoebox full of old cards. I played from Legends through Exodus, and popped back in for Ravnica through Lorwyn. My collection has been cherry-picked a handful of times by various people, so I don't have a lot of things of value, but it's a great bunch of older cards for people who might not have them.
7th Sea Collectible Card Game: I have a card flat full of extras. This was my game! I have thousands of cards for someone who'd like to start a play group.
XXXenophile: I have a booster box full of these cards: no more, no less.
Highlander TCG: I have three or four starter decks from the reissue. ~300 cards altogether.
2) I'll ship if you will. I live in Southern California; I'm amenable to face-to-face trades.
What I'm looking for: I'd like to complete my 7th Sea collection; I'm missing a grand total of 156 cards, and some of them are commons! I'd also like to pick up unopened packs for sealed formats. Other games I'd like to try include Netrunner, Deadlands: Doomtown, Middle-Earth, Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game, and Dune CCG.

Description - Around 1000-2000 Epic TCG cards. The cards come from an opened box of boosters for the base set and the expansion, Time Wars. Since this game was built with booster draft in mind, you can play a fairly competitive game by just grabbing 30 cards out of the box. There's also more than enough to build a bunch of decks.
Logistics - If you pay for shipping your stuff, I'll cover the shipping on my stuff. If you're in the Boston area or willing to drive, we could arrange to meet up and trade.
Value - It might be dead but I'm not sure. It was built around the idea that if every card is broken and overpowered then no card is broken or overpowered. It's a very strategic game.
Flexibility - I would like to trade it for Netrunner, Battletech, The Spoils, Middle-earth, Guardians, or Vampire/Jyhad, but I am up for any CCG/LCG. Just PM if with your offer if you're interested.

Just FYI, the USPS small flat rate box holds approximately 500 cards, unsleeved, with no packing material. I have not measured a medium flat rate box yet but will do so in the near future.
I will post here in the future once I get a handle on what I have for trade.
Edit: typo.

With the long medium flatrate box, I can ship 3 800 count boxes with only a little extended flap folding on one end. Since normal 800 count boxes are for thicker sportscards, you're able to get more than 3000 cards shipped for just over $10.

Vampire: The Eternal Struggle
I have about 15,000 cards including obscene amounts of Ancient Hearts, Sabbat and Dark Sovereign expansion cards. I can set someone up with a very nice selection of 500-1000 cards in a flat rate box. Or even more if wished. I have smaller collections of Battlelords, Bloodwars, Cyberpunk 2020, Doom Trooper, Duel Masters, Echelons of Fire, Fantasy Adventures, Galactic Empires, Guardians, Hecatomb, Heresy, High Stakes Drifter, Hyborian Gates, Rage, Shadowfist, Shadowrun, Legend of the Burning Sands, Star of the Guardians, Star Quest, Super Nova, Tempest of the Gods, Towers in Time and Wyvern.
On the Edge I have maybe 8,000 or so of these and can do the same as for VTES.
Cards for both games are all in at least good to mint condition.
I'd love to acquire more Netrunner cards, especially the Classic expansion of which I have no cards at all and can swap singles, but not large numbers.
I'd also like to acquire later expansions of VTES after the 3 I mentioned. 7th Sea cards, Doomtown and Legend of the Burning Sands are also very desirable.
Heresy cards would be welcome and Battletech CCG cards too. Kult is also something I'd like to find.

Have:
Netrunner Found a 2-deck Starter set at the thrift. Box says it should have 120 cards, but I only count 114 - 60 purple-backed and 54 green-backed.
Star Trek CCG 2nd Edition Also a thrift store find. Guessing about 350 cards. I have a feeling that they split the collection up into several bags, only 2 of which I found, because the ratio of card types seems off. There are a bunch of Dilemmas, Events, and Characters, but few Interrupts, Missions, and Ships. Never played it, so I can't say what the ratios should be.
Pirates of the Spanish Main From Spanish Main (the first set), Barbary Coast(4th), Davy Jones' Curse(6th), Mysterious Islands(7th), Ocean's Edge(9th), and Savage Shores(13th and final). Most are punched and built, but I have a good stack of unpunched stuff as well.
Rocketmen
A few sealed boxes of Battle of Titans (the 2nd and final set) and many loose unpunched cards from both sets.
Bionicle CCG This "game" was absolute dreck, so I'm not even going to bother listing what I have. Got a whole bunch of it on sale and am regretting it. I can go dig it up if you're really interested.
Star Wars Pocketmodel Battle of Teth scene pack, Jedi Command theme deck, and Scavenger Pack. All are punched and built. Finally got around to playing this. It's better than I expected, so I'm keeping it for now.
If you're looking for a specific card/model from any of these, just let me know and I'll go check. Keep in mind that I'm a commuting student, so it might take up to a week for me to respond to anything.
I'm also willing to trade singles from games from the Want section.
Want:
Magic Casual constructed player. Am always happy to get cards I don't already have, even if they're terrible.
Battletech CCG I'm interested in trying this, but only have a couple starter decks and a handful of boosters.
Firestorm Only looking for specific singles to complete playsets.
I'll listen to any other reasonable offer, preferably games that can be drafted. Not interested in more miniatures.
Logistics:
I pay to ship my stuff to you, and you pay to ship your stuff to me. Or a local arrangement can be made in the Denton, TX area.

This may be the wrong thread for this but it seems approximately appropriate.
[I used to play MTG. Long enough ago that I don't remember all that much, but I think I quit playing when Ice Age was new. Lately, I have been thinking that it would be fun to have some cards around for casual play. But, so many additional series have come out since that I don't know where to start or what the current rules are anymore. I could (and may) eventually do some research. One thing I do remember was that everyone has boxes and boxes of spare commons and uncommon they never used.]
What I was wondering is if anyone has (or could make out of their spares / unwanted) some sort of cube that they would be willing to sell? I'm thinking of some sort of common/uncommon mix that would be fun for drafting or just making casual decks.
I don't know what would be a reasonable price range, but I am flexible on this and could cover shipping.
I do have some board games for trade, but most of them are packed away as I am in the middle of a couple of moves. The one thing I know I have easy access to are some Dark Elf Warhammer Fantasy figures if anyone is interested in those.

If you want to build yourself a cube these days, you can get one done pretty easily and it will work out pretty well too...
Buy common and uncommon sets on eBay (or other Magic selling site). Put one of each card into the cube. Buy the sets from recent sets, all part of the same or consecutive blocks - ideally, all from the one block. For example, but a set of commons and uncommons from Zendikar, Worldwake, and Rise of the Eldrazi, one of each... that's your cube.
This should work very well and has a very modest entry fee.

I have tons of Magic cards from Revised to current... though the sets for the last 5-6 years or so are pretty sparse in my collection. (2-nearly full 4-row boxes) I'm thinking of parsing down my collection just to the current block, plus several "fun" decks that I have (stuff with dragons, slivers, etc...) I would totally be willing to sell or trade the stuff that isn't current. Anyone could easily make a cube out of the quantity that I have.
For those in the know (I've actually been out of the game for a while,) any card from past sets can be used as long as it also exists in the current block, is that correct? What about something like "Fireball" which I noticed is an uncommon in the current block, but was a common back in Revised.
I will have to spend some time going through what I've got to see what I would be willing to part with, so it may take a few days, but PM me if you are interested.
