I just got Insecta and the Dessert Hive. Love this game. I also have the Tribolite on its way. Is there anyone who has a review or session report?

Not played yet but well worth picking up. With Trilobite, the hive is submerged and is one level only. The hive deck is separated by era, rather than orders of insects, and some of the 'bugs' are a lot larger than you might expect. So you'll see human divers, sharks and even dinosaurs later in the mix here.
A nice new feature is the inclusion of set of cards to represent the occurrence of random catastrophic events between the eras.
There are also rules to combine with standard Insecta where levels of the hive could be submerged or dry - all very interesting and certainly I'll need to drag it out for a playtest soon.

I believe there's still tournaments at the Los Angeles Strategicon conventions, at least when Phil Eklund is there. I hear the Big Board died in a car accident some time ago, though.
