Hi - played this for the first time over the weekend - like a few more comments here, the rule book was quite offputting!

Something that the rule book does do well is reinforce the theme, but we found we couldn't remember the names for the moves etc during playing, except maybe the ewe-turn! We ended up making up easy names, like 'signposts' etc just to play.

I think it would play better without the mats & mutton buttons, but with a set of 12 cards for each player with a move on each, with the name, description etc on them, that get discarded as you play.

This leads me on to the question - I want to have a go making my own cards, but how can I get hold of the artwork? I see a few people have put files on here with the pics etc, & I'd love to get hold of some of the proper artwork to try this with.

Cheers

Paul

Good idea.

Most people just use scans of the artwork.

If you get cards up on ArtCow or something, I would definately order.

I agree the iconography on the pad takes a little time to get used to, but it's certainly easier than Race for the Galaxy. Besides, the components are why you buy the game. What other game has "Roger - the Love Ram"?

If you can read this, meet me behind Spank Me Shirley TempleĀ®, 3AM Sat., before the rise of the next full moon. I'll be the aging bald guy, in a blaze orange jumpsuit. Bring no one. Wear white.

Btw, if you have instructions for the PS2 Multitap, bring those as well.

We had much the same problem, but after a couple of plays, it gets easier to remember the iconography. The Polish edition uses a set of action tiles, (and a real board and unmounted sheep). I think tiles would be easier to make homemade, and probably last longer too.

Yeah, the original boards definitely create an obstacle in learning the game. Making cards is an interesting idea, for artwork check out these replacement boards. Ever since printing these out on nice stock I haven't taken the originals out of the box!
