Hive Pocket is being released next year. It has smaller playing pieces. That makes the 'first move advantage for white' less big a problem too, right? shake ninja

We play that if white surrounds the queen, but black can do so at the end of their next turn as well, the game is a tie.

Matthew Roskam, I think it is a wise home rule, I also played like this many times and it seems to equalize the game quite well.
But we have to decide if this variant is good for all cases or only in some (like different\equal experience of players, number of games played in a row, etc)
