Does either version of this game come in a standard square board game box, or is it only in a bag? I'm hoping for both, it is nice to have a box to stack and place nicely on the shelf. Thanks!

In a box.
I ditched mine, though. As I did, I felt stupid, realizing I'd just bought a cloth sac with some wooden parts in it for $60. Had it been sold as a toy, it sould have cost $5.

I believe Bausack does come in a box which is pictured on this site. However, I recently purchased Sac Noir directly from Rio Grande and there was no box. There was no measuring string or counters either. Not a big deal though. Although Rio Grande never sent the items even after two requests and two promises to do so. String and beans were not worth the effort to continue trying. It was more of a "I paid a lot for this set and would expect to get it complete" thing.

Man, I will be righteously pissed if my recently purchased version of Sac Noir is missing those components. I decided to buy that version because it had more pieces than Bausack, despite the fact it would not come with a pretty box to put on the shelf. I'm guessing Sac Noir wouldn't fit in the standard box though, and would probably need a Cornerstone/Formula-D sized container. Thanks Rob and Simon.
