My RGG edition came with 2 copies of the Mission CD, 1 mislabeled as the Tutorial CD. This made for a rather disappointing first outing!

I didn't see any threads mentioning this combination of problems with the CDs, so I thought I'd mention it.

You can download all the sound files in several different languages from their website (http://czechgames.com/en/downloads/). That, at least, gets you playing quickly. I myself put them all on my iPhone. Here on the 'Geek you find even more sound files, including very good Star Trek sounds.

Do you mean the combination of 2 Tutorial CDs or the mislabeling as a whole?
Because the mislabeling was mentioned a couple of times here and here.

It sure is disappointing, no doubt about that, but don't blame Space Alert directly for it. There are different "Publishers" in the different Countries that are responsible for localizing, putting the right legal stickers on it, doing the advertising etc.
So the publisher made a mistake.
I just wanted to make that clear. Just write a mail to RGG and tell them that you are unhappy with your copy of the game. While i don't think it will change something directly, it will tell them to be more careful and maybe pay more attention to proper QA. And who knows, maybe they are even willing to send you the right CD.

But i hope you will still enjoy the game anyway, because no matter who the publisher is, its still an awesome game

And im very happy with my "Heidelberg Spieleverlag" version of Space alert

So did your set come with 3 CDs total (the Mission CD, Tutorial CD, and the Mission CD labelled as a Tutorial CD)? Or did you not get a Tutorial CD at all?

If you got 3 that's an improvement as the first set of US customers just got mislabelled CDs. But it's completely playable (if not a little annoying for the first run-through)- don't pass up a great game for a simple label mistake.

And get the Star Trek files- they really add to the fun!

Mine were switched too, but I had read about it on a thread here.

Either way, the internal threat that comes up first was a dead giveaway.

I just purchased Space Alert and, like the OP, mine came with 2 CDs, both of them copies of the mission CD. One of them was mislabeled 'Tutorial CD'.

Thankfully I was aware of the problem, downloaded the tracks from the website, and burned a disc prior to our first play session, which isn't for a few days, but I'm looking forward to it!

If you have a computer handy *do* try the flash versions of the missions. Highly recommended!

You just bought it and it was mislabeled? I just got it too...and now I'm worried mine is mislabeled as well. How could they do this to me!!!

I had the same issue, very confusing our first game in the tutorial when we were trying to play and had advanced threats and internal threats and so on...

I also got a copy with two Mission CDs and no Tutorial CD.
And it also came with a couple of heavily damaged cards, almost as if they've been sliding on asphalt while shipping.
Luckily, the people at CGE are awesome and have swiftly taken care of it.

Interesting, my copy came with 2 tutorial cds, on labeled tutorial and the other labeled mission. I had heard about the swapped labels from before, but this is even worse. I guess I'll have to download the files and make my own cds.
