When everyone is out of beans the auctioneer's choice is basically to either take a piece for him/herself OR give a piece to the person to the left correct?

I've been playing it with an auction variant similar to Dream Factory basically - the beans spent for auction go to the middle and then the pool is evenly distributed to those that didn't win. We also determine the turn order for choosing a block according to who won the last auction.

Having it as a closed economy auction system makes for some slightly more aggressive bidding and allows people to come back from the "ugh, I'm out of beans" thing.
