When it says no more than 2 of your shrimps on one rock, does it mean a single square that has no polyps on it, or does it mean a contiguous block of empty squares?

I think other than that the rules make sense, there is a lot going on but we are going to give it a try!

if there any other "rules heads up" or "common mistakes", please let me know!

"One rock" actually means an entire playing board. No player can have more than 2 shrimps per board.

Bed Rock is abbreviated as rock in this case.

As previously posted, each board is one area of rock.

One common oversight: While it might be obvious that when a player places a tile adjacent to the central square of a board they gain a free tile of that type, it might not be so obvious that when that central space is freed and a player places a tile orthogonally adjacent to the central space they still gain a free tile of the matching type. Some players, newer ones at least, tend to believe this is a one time, or first player to do so, bonus.

Download my beginner's guide. It outlines the rules in a different way which may prove to be helpful. Plus there's a few hints and tips too.
