Just opened up the scenario book and I have to say I'm disappointed not to see any of Caesar's battles with the Gauls. Just River Sabis (Belgic) and a couple British battles.

You'd think with Caesar's Gallic Wars being one of the primary entry points for many of us to ancient Roman history and warfare, GMT would offer the classic battles of Vercingetorix's rebellion. Instead, we get seven (!) battles from the Third Servile War.

Pick up expansion 3. It's very inexpensive and gives you another mounted board. And you will find a number of the scenarios you seek there.

By the way, the Belgic folks certainly were Gauls.

Back when #2 and #3 were coming out at the same time, I personally wanted to see more of the Gauls in #2 and thought they could justify Spartacus as a sort of "Roman Civil War." (Okay, it's a stretch.) The point was that many of Spartacus' troops were "barbarians," so that qualified.

But I think you'll be happy when you get #3.

Check out the scenario lists on CCAncients.net. You'll find a few more battles from this period. Some of these battles were presented in Expansion 3.
