I've been looking through the expansion, and found a bit about one special cube placement in the palace.
Quote: The Palace is a new location which fits on the Revolution! board. It's worth 55 Support at the end of the game, and has a special space: the Guardhouse. The player who controls the Guardhouse is immune to the Spy and the Apothecary!
Does this mean that the first player to place a cube in the Palace can put it in the Guardhouse and then it stays there for the entire game, giving that player an advantage over the others for the rest of the game?
Sounds a bit odd to me, but I can't find the official rules anywhere on line to check it out.

No, whenever you win the palace you place an influence marker in the palace and then another marker in the guardhouse. If another player already has an influence marker in the gaurdhouse you return it to him after placing your marker in the gaurdhouse.

OK, thanks. Does the guardhouse count towards working out who has the majority in the Palace?

No, but otherwise it is treated as a "real" space on the board, subject to moves and switches, etc.

Actually, this brings up a point: Is the player who controls the Guardhouse still allowed to subject himself to the Apothecary?

Yes; the rulesheet makes this explicit. Although, it would be very odd to switch someone else into the Guardhouse. I guess there may be a situation where it would make sense.

Well, I wasn't thinking about switching someone else into the Guardhouse. I was just thinking about switching between two other locations, like say between the Cathedral and the Market, while in the Guardhouse. I could see switching out of the Guardhouse, though, a bit like a Spy kludged out of the Guardhouse and the Apothecary.
