I didn't know these were available at GenCon and I wasn't at PAX.
If anyone wants to sell one, please let me know.
I also would trade a Grey Hag promo for one.

I would love one of each, I had no idea there would be promo cards.

I've been watching eBay and haven't seen one for sale yet. Being a new user on BGG, you would probably have better luck getting that $30 on eBay then here. If you list it, send me a GM with the link. They discourage pimping your eBay sales here.
Edit: I guess I scared him off...

These were super rare; rather than being handed out to anyone who played the game in the Wizards area at PAX, like the Gray Hag was (I wound up with a bunch of Hags), the Kobold Champion was only handed out in a few rare situations, and only consistantly for getting a gold star (through rolling a natural 20 on an attack) in the Red Dragon D&D encounter going on in the WotC booth.
As of right now, the Kobolds are super rare. Much, much rarer than the Gray Hag.

From what research I've done so far, you get the Gray Hag in CR (I did) and the Kobold Champ comes in WoA. Why spend $30.00 on it now. But, to each their own.

Actually, I own CR and the Grey Hag is a villain, not a monster card. The promo card makes it a regular monster. The Kobold is a similar promo.

FYI, all 4 Designers of the Castle Ravenloft game are Registered Users here on BGG. If you go to the main listing for the game, you can click on their names and send them personal messages. I suggest we ALL hammer 'em w/messages...!
Like most of you, I too am really disgusted w/this promo crap that PUNISHES people who learn about the game after-the-fact (like I just did a couple weeks ago) - AND - I purchased the game almost instantly.
WE who are willing to BUY [for a REASONABLE price] the 'stuff' we couldn't get for free [just over a MONTH ago] because we have responsibilities and families and JOBS and don't have the time or inclination to be galavanting all over the country just to snatch up a few giveaways and freebies at various gaming Cons....!!!!
Sorry for venting....it just gets....IRRITATING....

What's irritating to me... is all the whining that goes on about promos. How is it that people have the gall to demand promo items from companies. I couldn't make it to PAX either, but I merely said I wanted one. I am fully willing to buy or trade for it. I know that since it's rare it will cost me.
The only thing you're going to do by hounding the designers is piss them off. And you know what will happen then? That's right! NO MORE PROMOS! For anyone! Would that make you happy? Why would anyone in their right mind listen to someone bitch about something so absurd. I know if I was a publisher and heard so much whining, I would just say, "Fine... we were trying to do something cool, but it turns out that we actually receive less bitching from our fans if we DON'T give away free stuff... I guess that means we are treating our customers better... by not doing something cool. I guess we should just put any other cool ideas we have in a box and call it an expansion."
If you want it so badly that you are willing to verbally attack the people who brought you the game that you obviously enjoy, you really disgust me. Suck it up and pay for it.

I can't imagine any game designer -- or any artist, for that matter -- being upset after receiving a GeekMail gushing with praise. Something like:
"I love your game. It is totally awesome! Is there any way I can get ahold of the promos? Do you think they might be included in a future expansion or made available through some sort of online offer, like through Boardgamegeek?"
Nasty, shouty, angry GeekMails, of course, would not be received so well.

There is currently one up for bid on ebay now.
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&cam...
At the time of this post it is at $50.00 with a little less than 2 days, which I will guess it will go for $60.00 - $75.00 at end of auction. This really depresses me because I love the game and I also consider this game part of a collection and natually I would like to get all the expansions, promos, ect. that go with it. But personaly I can not justify spending that much on such little substance. So I will never have what I concider, a complete game.

I can see the "complete game point", but to pay $50-$75 fpr a promo card is a bit nuts in my opinion. And its money that doesn't even go to the company (WotC). It goes to some dude that was fortunate enough to be there at the con's and get the promo. I want them too, but not for that much. I mean, the gray hag (as far as I know) doesn't even come with a mini. Just the card.....not worth it.

Wow, homiefud, I had no idea you were such an angry individual.
Perhaps I didn't state my position with enough specific detail?
I won't bother to respond with a bunch of personal attacks and colorful expletives. Rather, how about we send the Game Designers a piece of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism?
Why can't they REWARD the people who actually PURCHASE the game, by providing a 'Promo Code' inside the box? You're enough of a sophisticated gamer that I'm sure you've seen/heard of this before.
With the Promo Code (or whatever they provide) you go online, login with your info, and they send you the Con Freebies they were handing out as a "Thank You" for buying their game.
THAT'S the kind of 'Customer Service' I had in mind when I wrote my intitial message...
GOOD GAMING!!!

Actually, I'm not. But I do get angry when someone suggests:
StrahdFan1 wrote: ...we ALL hammer 'em w/messages...! and
StrahdFan1 wrote: WE who are willing to BUY [for a REASONABLE price] the 'stuff' we couldn't get for free ...doesn't understand the concept of promotional items and then bitches about them. BTW, thank you so much for derailing my original post with your ignorance of that very concept.
StrahdFan1 wrote: You're enough of a sophisticated gamer that I'm sure you've seen/heard of this before. Of course, you see it in video games all the time... with a time limit. Every single one of those promos (and they are promos... see above) expire a month or two after the game is first released. It forces one to buy their game NOW if they want that promo. It's not a bonus... it's incentive. Which is exactly what the Kobold Champion is.
StrahdFan1 wrote: I won't bother to respond with a bunch of personal attacks... If you are inferring that I personally attacked you, please direct me to my offense.
StrahdFan1 wrote: I too am really disgusted w/this promo crap that PUNISHES people Do you really feel the game company is punishing you? For discovering their product later? Really? I have three words for you... Seek professional help.
Oh, and if anyone thinks their game is incomplete because you didn't get a promo... or a bonus item... or whatever... it's called a neurosis. Again, seek professional help.
Disclaimer... none of the above was written in anger. Snarky as hell, yes. But not anger.
Edit: You did NOT just thumb your own post. You DID! You thumbed your own post. LAME!
