Hello,
last time we played (5 players) in one round we manage to have 4 players with CLOSED bridghe and 1 player with OPEN bridge.
What do we do in this case? The Open Bridge player has to take all the traveler cards?

UPGRADE: When it is each player’s turn to score, he may also cash in cards AND/OR Scoring Markers
How exactly can I cash in CARDS? This seems very strange. I got the Scoring Markes thing. You pay what is needed and you get the upgrade card. But how do you "cash in cards"?

3. I believe this simply means that during the player's scoring phase, he or she can turn in food/gold/boulders (if closed) for chips, turn in chips for cards, or both. Seems to be poorly worded, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.
You're playing it correctly on all counts.
