What I would like to know: The rules say you can take 2 or 1 new boats in case you don´t have anymore boats on the board and put it on tonga or another island. Fine.. But what happens if you have founded a kings island, and then it happens that you are loosing all other boats on the other island... so, then you have a boat on the board...does that mean you are not allowed to take new boats...and you kicked yourself out of the game.
Who knows the answer?
Axel

If I recall, the kings island boats don't count as boats for determining if you have boats on the board. So I would say if all you have are kings islands, you can place boats on Tonga.

However, you're probably in a pretty bad situation overall at that point

The Kings Island markers do not count as having boats on the board.
I thought that if you had no boats, you started on a fresh island from the draw pile, but I don't have the game in front of me and I could be getting the rule confused with another one.

You could be right; I haven't played it in awhile myself, so I can't remember either.

Asking the right person...

In an Email to me Thomas Rauscher wrote:
es steht nirgendwo, aber sagen wir es mal so:

Ein Schiff auf einer Königsinsel ist weniger ein Schiff als ein Marker für den Besitz der Königsinsel (wir haben ja keine anderen Steine).
Insofern sollte die Einsetzregel auch für diesen Fall gelten.

Auf Englisch:

A players boat placed on a Royal Island may be considered as a marker for the ownership rather than being a real boat.
Therefore the rule for 'No boats on the board' should also apply to the case when a player has one or two Royal Islands.

Kannst Du so weitergeben.

Gruß

Thomas

The rules say that if you have no boats on the board, you may either place two new boats at Tonga or one new boat at any other island.
