:p I've played this game about 10 times now. Seems every group of people has a different idea about scoring and when the scoring changes. And, it seems dependent on how badly one sheep has fallen behind. I think the questions come down to this:

1. When you score on the diagnol do you count each sheep or just give one point for each diagnol line formed?

2. Same questions for ornthological....do you score 2 pts for each sheep touching or 2 pts for each occurence of flat sides touching?

3. When the timer changes fields it always stops, correct? So then the sheep have a new goal....no more scoring on the old correct? So if you fall behind too bad?? I think players are falling behind cause we are doing something wrong. If you have any idea what that might be, please let me know. THANKS!

You score 1 point in the starting field if your sheep touch each other diagonally. In the black sheep field you score 1 point if 1 of your sheep touches the black sheep diagonally and 2 points if both of your sheep touch the black sheep diagonally.

Same answer. You score 2 points in the starting field if your 2 sheep are touching each other side-to-side. In the black sheep field you score 2 points if 1 of your sheep is side-to-side with the black sheep, and 4 points if both of your sheep are side-to-side with the black sheep.

Incorrect. It only stops at the end of Roger the Ram's field and the final space of the board. It stops in these spots for scoring. However if you want to score for the first field or the black sheep field you have to use an action that will stop the timer while it's still in that field. If you move the timer too far and it enters the next field you no longer can score for tagging your own sheep or the black sheep.

1. During field 1, you receive one point at the end of your turn if your OWN sheep are touching at a corner, and two points if they are touching on a side. The maximum number of points you can score on your turn while the timer is in the first field is 2 points.

2. During field 3, you receive one point at the end of your turn for each of your OWN sheep that are touching the black sheep at a corner, and two points if they share a side. The maximum number of points you can score on your turn while the timer is in the third field is 4 points (both of your sheep touching along sides of the black sheep).

3. The timer only stops at the end of the second field (and technically, the end of the fourth field, but hey). Remember that the order of play is choose/take an action, resolve the flock, move the timer, score if applicable, and finally free lamb slam if the timer is on a red space. The timer does not stop when crossing from field 1 to 2, nor between fields 3 and 4.

I hope that helps!

Thanks, Alex for that clarification.
One more point that is a bit vague (based on the choice of words in the rulebook) is whether/when there is any scoring as the Time Marker crosses into a new field.
