A fast question -
If pirate(s) plunder a ship they decide whether the ship sails to Manila or dry dock. Do workers placed in Manila or dry dock receive the money they would have received had the ship arrived under its own accord?
I assume this is the case, however the rules don't state this explicitly (while they do explicitly mention the value of shares increasing if the pirates decide to go to Manila).

It has been a few years since I have played, but believe the answer is yes. I don't recall anything in the rules saying otherwise. Think of it as the pirates looting the ship, but not raiding the port. I remember another tricky rule was in regards to making it to the last space of the ocean being the same as making it to port - unless of course the pirate says otherwise. Fun game that I need to play again.

Yes, I know which "tricky rule" you mean - landing on 13 (on the 3rd roll) when no pirates are there. The fact that these ships go into the Manila port escaped me until I read it here on BGG. I thought that couldn't be right - but sure enough, there it was in the rules.
Thanks! I agree, it's a game with a high FUN quotient.
