I've beta-read the rules, and they strongly reduce book-keeping and recalculations while keeping almost everything from the plethora of tactical options from the previous rules. Many things have been simplified by making them less fiddly, but you can still run down your enemy in a downslope combined wedge formation/flank attack.
A few things have been removed, like movement debt, which has been replaced with a much simpler mechanic. Other things have been added, presumably for balance's sake, like a limit on how long princes can use their mounts.
I'm certainly looking forward to trying out the new rules in the near future.

I am interested also. My copy has been shelved due to the amount of book-keeping that it seemed to require. I am going to print out the 2.0 rules and charts and give it another go.

Flight of the seabirds, scattered like lost words, wheel to the storm and fly. Fare thee well now, let your life proceed by it's own design. Nothing to tell now, let the words be yours, I'm done with mine.
To seek the sacred river Alph, to walk the caves of ice, to break my fast on honey dew and drink the milk of paradise... I had heard the whispered tales of immortality, the deepest mystery from an ancient book I took a clue.

Great news!
I have a friend that we have been supposed to finally try this for a few months now. Hopefully this will give us the prod to finally get it on the table.
I'm glad to hear movement debt is gone. I appreciated the concept, but it was one of the many bookkeeping bits that was causing apprehension.
I look forward to seeing the changes and finally getting this beauty played!

Hello,
When version 1.6 was released, I downloaded everything from the website (the strategy guide, the updated character sheets, etc...) Since then, I've lost the rule book and cant find it anywhere. I would like to download the new ruleset, but cant as I no longer have the book. Is there any way I can prove ownership of the game to download the new material?

After reading the first 13 pages I can say that I am very happy with this revision. Many things that were inconsistend have been streamlined (e.g. the change into casting formation is now part of the general formation changes, the movement system is simplified, the engagement in a shock attack is no marked on the record sheet . . .).
The airborne movement unfortunately is still very fiddly, one point where I hoped for an easier and more fluent approach.
All in all it looks very promising, I will write more when I finished reading the whole rule set.
Just one question: is there any hope of getting an index in the near future? Would be extremly helpful
Edit: Finished my read and can reconfirm what I wrote before: GREAT WORK!
Everything is more streamlined now, feels more intuitive and fluid as well, these revised rules are a massive step into the right direction
