We all have large collections of abstracts (at least those likely to look at this post *smile)

So from your collections, which 10 would you leave your son or daughter? For the sake of the list you have to limit it to 10.

Mine

1) Hive (by then the Carbon edition)
2) Arimaa my homemade set
3) Navia Drapt (will be increasingly rare and such a good game)
4) Camelot an older classic
5) Terrace, the tie to Star Trek makes it a must
6) Axiom - the 3D nature and future rarity
7) Omega Chess - Love the variant and very nice set
8) Abalone - really love the 'feel' of the game
9) Go - My son gave me the set I have
10) I have a homemade 8X8 checker board and pieces on which we can play a number of games, including Gounki, the square pieces salvaged from a chunk of wood found in son's scout hall the day it was demolished. It has to be on list.

I must say Gipf series could have made list but would have taken up six spots.

Chess. I can't think of any other abstract that is more interesting. In fact, I can't think of any other abstract that is even interesting.

My Navia Dratp collection for my son, who loves the game as much as I do. In fact, I've already collected a (nearly) complete set to give him when he goes away to college. So he doesn't have to wait for me to die -- he just needs to move out

I would probably also leave him a beautiful chess set that I bought many years ago. But, honestly, we rarely play anymore.

I can't imagine leaving any games to my daughter, since she's not a board gamer. In fact, I can't think of *anything* of mine that she'd want. I guess she'll just have to settle for having my big feet.

Are you going to have them realistically mounted by a taxidermist, or just preserved in a jar with formaldehyde? Either way, they will be an awesome thing to inherit!

1. Omba (not quite fully an abstract since it has a luck factor, but this game is just a lot of fun. One of the few 'abstracts' that my kids actually like...)
2. Let's Catch the Lion!
3. Shogi
4. Hive - Hive: The Mosquito - Hive: The Ladybug
5. Rosenkönig
6. Plateau X
7. Blokus
8. Tix
9. Bambam Booboo
10. Hexabrae

note: the last three games are for posterity sake...

Clearly, if this is their inheritance, the most expensive ones I can find

1. Let's start with the Jewel Royale chess set:
http://www.chessville.com/misc/jewelroyale.htm

2. A decent go set. Too many to choose from to list a 'most expensive', so I'll go with pretty: http://www.algorithmicartisan.com/gostones/goStones.html (Tiger's eye and Malachite).

After that it gets tougher...

3. I figure Project Gipf counts as one item, if you play GIPF with the full potentials rules

4. Project Kells: Sacred Hill, High Kings of Tara & Poisoned Chalice, the deluxe edition with the stone board.

5. Navia Dratp. Complete play set (4 of each figure!)

6. Fire and Ice meta-set (requires 7 copies of the game).

7. Hexi. Playable on gamerz.net, it's my adaptation of Octi to a hexagonal board. Don Green made me a beautiful copy, which may be the only one in existence!

... and a few decent games to round it all out:

8. Santorini

9. Gyges

10. Hex

You can easily bequeath someone the physical objects of a custom built game, or an unpublished prototype. You can also transfer the legal claim to any intellectual property rights associated with the design. The will itself or associated codicils can establish that transfer and new ownership of the intellectual property.
