In our game, we found the Bohnhofs to not be entirely useful when it comes to getting beans or coins from your opponents, but... we were wondering if people thought it was allowed to use it to get an additional bean out of your own hand when selling in the town with your Bohnhof. In effect, offering it to yourself. The rule doesn't explicitly state the German word for opponents or other players, it just says "each player".

Without that possibility, it didn't really seem worth the 2 coins to buy it. Even with that change, only marginally so. I suppose the value might play out better if you were to buy one extremely early in the game, but being our first play we weren't really thinking about them right away.
