Hi, the description of the dominate/enthrall ability in both characters, specifically says "...the monster/spirit adds its Strenght/Craft to yours un battle/psychic combat, after which it departs to the discard pile."
Does that mean this ability is not optional? in other words, if I have two dominated/enthralled followers, can I do battle using up just one of them and keep the other, or am I forced to use both and discard them afterwards?

Last sentence on OC reads: "You may use any number of dominated Monsters during a battle." If you want to use 0, you can. Ditto for Necromancer.

OC and Necromancer are the two best Lord of Darkness asskickers. Just hoard a bunch of Followers, attack LoD, cash in all Followers and exit at the Crown of Command. OC from experience is slightly better, Dungeon features quite a number of Monsters, so if he gets an early trophy, he can move and then cash his Str 4 or 5 trophy to help him defeat a Str 8 Monster for example. It isn't rare for the OC to reach the CoC via the Dungeon in 30 minutes, sometimes with just base stats, but cashing in Str 15+ in Followers means LoD goes down.
