I do not own this game yet but i intend to buy it and i was wondering if it is worth it because of it's replayability. I imagine that if you play through all the cards once (not to difficult since there are 120 cards and an unlimited number of players/game) you would be able to memorize a lot of the drawings and their criteria so that next time you are the artist you would know exactly what to draw... this is the only thing that keeps me from buying the game.

And now the question for the owners:
What was your experience with the game after playing it several times? Is this realy a problem? Is it worth buying?

I had the original Portrayal version of this. It took 24 instances to work through the deck of pictures.

I had a blast and it was certainly worth the relatively inexpensive cost of the game.

After I went through the cards, I simply gave the game to a friend I knew had only played it once or twice and would enjoy working through the deck themselves.

That said, I think it would have good replayability. The criteria are obscure enough and the pacing quick enough, that when drawing it would likely be detrimental to try to implement clues you think you may remember.

It was a concern for me before buying the game, but in practice, you use around 6 cards per game, which means 20 games without reusing the same cards. This is plenty in my experience (only few boardgames has been played that many times by me...)

And I'm not even talking about the amnesia factor.

So unless you expect to play this game 30 times in the next 6 months, I don't think it should bother you.

If you're still thinking about buying it: I just bought it at my FLGS and saw that there are two expansions out (blue and red), each carrying 80 additional cards.

:-) Good idea. I haven't played it yet but it sure looks promising.

Cheers

I'd say replayability is high. You hardly use any images in one game. It's Gteat fun and really isn't as hard as you think to play and win. The only annoying thing is that the cards don't have their own box which means everyone can see the details of the top card.
