The Basics
Takkie Kakkie / Kackel Dackel is a silly game about a pooping dog.

Goal
The goal of the game is to get the dog to collect three poops on a shovel.

Gameboard
There is no gameboard per se.

Game components
The game consists of the dog-device, with bone-shaped feeder plug. Attached to the dog is a plastic tube with a grip-pump at the end. In addition, there is a plastic bottle cap (used for scopping food for the dog), a canister of gelatinous food for the dog, a plastic shovel for each player, and a die.

How to play
Before each round, the players "feed" the dog by scooping a glob of the food substance into the feeder plug. The plug and food are put into the mouth of the dog device. Each player rolls the die to determine an action -- pump the hand-pump one, two, or three times, swap shovels with another player, or no action.

The key to the game is that with every pump of the grip, the food passes a little bit further through the dog. The goal of the game is to catch the poop as it comes out of the back of the dog.

My opinion
Takkie Kakkie / Kackel Dackel is barely a game, but it is wickedly entertaining. Because there is a definite point that the poop will come out of the dog, the game is no more complex than rolling a die and adding to a running total, with one player receiving a victory point chit when a certain point threshold is crossed. But the entertainment of it is the pooping, and the noise that comes from the dog whenever a player squeezes the pump, which sounds like an ascending-note fart. Perhaps its only a one-trick pony, but a funny one.

I'm tickled that this caught on fire this year. I saw it on Wednesday evening, and am still talking about it. It's ridiculous and great.

For what it's worth, there are two videos on YouTube: a German commercial and some kind of promotion activity that the game put on. (In that second video, it's a lot of folks throwing away dog poop until the game comes out at 1:30 in.)

The farting noise put the game over the top, but the realistic twitching tail was an awesome touch.

Ok...

1. I must have this (although my wife vehemently disagrees)

2. I don't care what the wife thinks, I have to get one of these.

Not sure if I want to have it, but I so want to play this.

Reminds me of a German saying (don't know the exact idiomatic translation, though):

Spoiler (click to reveal)
"Aus Scheiße Geld machen."

(To make money from sh**.)

The noise was funny enough, but the quivering tail puts it over the top. This is much funnier than the domestically available Gassy Gus.

I'm surprised they didn't make the putty brown, seems like an obvious design decision.
