Gate to Freelord:
Overview: A lone OtherOne Disciple or her escort must pass the bridge leading out of the Darkstone Ranges. This scenario requires two players, each using their own Basic Set.
Squad Selection: The squad and terrain choices for this scenario are fixed for both players and not based on a selected Total Value. For purposes of explanation, the OtherOne Disciple's squad will be considered the "attacker."
*Attacker Squad: OtherOne Disciple, Darkstone Mercenary, Archer, Archer, Conscript, Conscript. *Defender Squad: Crusader, Crusader, Darkstone Mercenary, Conscript, Conscript.
Victory Conditions: The Attacker must have at least one Character pass through the gate. This Character does not need to be the Disciple. Failure to get any Characters through the gate means the defender wins the scenario.
Grid construction: The wall cards and gate will be utilized to construct a bridge, as laid out below:
DEFENDER SIDE
Corner-----GATE-----Corner side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall side wall--SPACE--side wall
ATTACKER SIDE
Grid notes: On the bridge, the grid size measures 3 spaces wide by 7 spaces tall. The side walls are considered OPEN spaces and may be occupied by a Character. Moving off the bridge spaces further right or left results in the elimination of the Character (ie. you can knock someone off the bridge with either an Event rank 6 or Quake spell).
Beyond the bridge, on the attacker and defender far sides, the horizontal space is considered open for movement and can exceed 3 spaces wide.
Scenario-Specific Rules:
For purposes of this scenario, the gate positioning is reversed (ie., the gate controls are located on the opposite side.). The gate still begins play closed.
The middle spaces of the bridge are also considered Structure, and as such can be "quaked." Quaking out 3 horizontally adjacent sections destroys the bridge (and all Characters not on the far sides).
