I cannot help to think that this game has lots of potential. It has some nice features, and looks cute. However, the rules suck...
So surely someone has come up with new rules already?

I've been thinking:
- when climbing the pyramid, you can collect the gems (if you don't already have that color) if you can show the matching gem under a temple.
- This level is now free for anyone to climb
- You must have 6 gems and reach the top to win

However, this does not use the 4 gems on the inside of the temple... too bad...

Any better ideas or improvements?

You will find in the instructions a variant where the jewels in the end can reward a player with the "Golden Scorpion." You have to reveal and/or have the four jewels that surround the scorpion. If you can, you win the treasure. It is one extra "tougher" memory round to seal the deal.

It's a somewhat nicer way to end the game instead of ending it on aluck-of-the-roll as outlined in the base rules.
