I always hear people complain about the board of El Capitan, mainly that it's not a very good design, or it's not themed very strongly.

Here is a quick prototype i whipped up trying to theme it a bit more strongly.
I tried to keep the city boxes in approximately the same places, so the grid of 9 indicators on the cards still work.

Thoughts welcome :)

I think the complaints have to do with how difficult it is to read due to the color scheme and "busy" design. This looks pretty nice, but might have some of the same issues with the colors. Compare with the original,
versus


and you will see what is a cleaner color design and much less cluttered.

I like the design of the board. The only problem I've ever had with it is the script font used for the cities. The little dot chart on the bottom of the cards makes up for that though.
