We just played this game for the first time and had a lot of fun but after a few rounds everyone was slapping the hoard when any action card was revealed.
So to minimise this Acton card slapping instead of only Hoard card slapping we came up with the following houserule:

You are only allowed to slap the hoard when an Hoard card is revealed. Any other time you slap the hoard, you lose one point from you points already scored. If you still have no points you get one minus point.
And to slap the hoard you have to actually hit the hoard with your hand, so stopping your hand just in time above the hoard is allowed.

For us this made the slapping part a little more tenser.

Thanks Brian for this chaotic and fun game.

Now that is a good house rule for the penalty of slapping the hoard pile. Hmmm...might incorporate that in the next rule set. Currently we have it where the penalty is you place your most valuable card into the hoard pile. BUT I like this one as well. Will have to play it some and see how the general feel is for the game.

Thanks for the review and feedback!
