When playing a white card to any of the following quests, is the white card played face down or face up? Sir Lancelot, Dragon quest, Black Knight quest. I already know that it is played face up on the Picts and Saxons and the Holy Grail but it's not clear about the first three I asked about.

White cards are always face up. There's an option in playing black cards for the Black Knight, Lancelot and Dragon Quests, which will allow you to draw a white card if you play them face down.

Just mentioned it, in case that was the cause of your confusion.

Except for discards. Discards are always face down this includes the Excalibur quest.
