Hi! I just wanted to ask how the bonus cards are supposed to be chosen at the start.

The rules state:
The players decide which side of their 3 bonus cards will be used for the race (all players use the same bonuses).

Does this mean that each player must use the same side of the bonus cards, or does this merely mean that the bonus cards of all the players are the same, but they can choose independently which side to use?

The players collectively decide which three bonuses are in play for that game and all players have access only to those three.

I wonder if the other option changes the game play in anyway, ie. if each player decides for himself which bonus to use?

I don't see why it wouldn't work like that. However, from memory, I think some of the bonuses are more powerful than others.
