The Hunter reminds me of Snake Eyes. Am I the only one who thinks the new graphic layout is far inferior to the original? :(
1) Language-neutral 2) Cleans up the ambiguity of hunt / hire / meds that existed with the original version 3) The card template is much more impressive (has a scavenged, rusted metal vibe) 4) The artwork itself is immersive, detailed, and very high quality

I noticed there's room for card text. Since you are shooting for language neutral will you not be using that for card rules? I've seen games that have gone overboard on keeping language off the cards to the detriment of play in that you need a ref card to read the cards. I hope this won't be the case.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying. No, I am not a fan of complex symbology. There is room for card text, and that card text will be descriptive (for those cards that require text). the key was for the main game actions to be graphical / symbolic. But the Tribal Leaders, for example, will be roughly 95-100% text with a few symbols thrown in.

As an example, one of my favorite games is Groo: The Game which has full text on each card. A couple years ago a designer made a game with similar mechanics called Medievalia but replaced all the card text with symbols. My gaming group had a very difficult time with it.
I certainly understand using symbols for most stuff as long as it doesn't get too crazy. I actually like what they did with Race for the Galaxy which uses a lot of symbols but anything not basic has the rules on the card.

Is the game ready for preorder yet? And are we able to get it in England?

I am also eager to see the game hit store shelves. The artwork is nearing completion and we have begun work on refining and copy-editing the rules.

So are we looking maybe by Christmas? Just looking for a rough estimate to slot this into my game buying queue.

I would think before Christmas. I wish that I could give you a specific timeline. The art is now complete and we are tweaking the wording of the rules. After that, it is entirely up to the print queue with the printer as to when this is actually available for purchase.

I have not gotten an update from Rio yet. Last I heard it was down to negotiation between two printers and their relative availability.
I'll ping Jay and try to get some more information.

I feel as though this game is turning into some kind of joke. Next update: Rio Grande cancels Arctic Scavengers; Can't remember what the game actually does
