Hello,
I'm looking at doing a small production run of a dice based game targeted at the family market and was wondering what people thought was a reasonable price to pay.
The game will consist of 24 custom dice in a 100 x 150 x 30mm box.
I'm looking for UK, US and European pricing views.
Thanks

I just bought Story Dice and its two sister games for a neighbour. Each game consists of about 8 or 9 custom dice. They cost $15 each. .

I think that $9.95 is low. I'd think more in the $15-$25 range. If you can add player aids and player mats that would add to the perceived value.

As an example, Martian Dice came out last year and contains just 13 identicle custom dice, a capped dice cup (which is basically the box, and instructions, and listed for $14.95. (Though most online retailers sell it in the $10-13 range.)
So I would guess you would have a tough time bringing it in under $15. Card games with just cards can fetch upwards of $20 no problem. So if your game is good, and has decent art and graphic design, and has 24 custom dice, I would list it at a minimum of 24.95. It will sell for less most places (assuming you are not sole-distributing yourself) and note you will have to sell it to stores for markedly less.
Dice games seem to be pretty hot right now...
