10 Days in Africa is a travel game with a difference. The game is about building a travel adventure in Africa using tiles showing countries and transport. The board is essential yet is basically for reference only.

Each player begins the game with 10 random tiles on their tiles holders in slots labelled 1 through 10. On their turn players draw a new tile from either one of three face-up piles or from the face down pile and may exchange it for one of their existing tiles. The tile that is removed is placed face up on the table in one of three piles and is now available for any player to draw. Players must have a country in the slots labelled 1 and 10 and in between must have a coherent journey of either neighbouring countries or transport that connects non-neighbouring countries. Once a player has ten tiles in order that form a coherent journey following the rules of the transport (e.g. two yellow coloured countries with an yellow airplane in between is acceptable) they have finished and announce this to the other players. After they have checked that the itinerary is complete that player is declared the winner.

The game is a great one for learning geography and is an excellent family game. It is low on strategy, although planning ahead does help. There is some luck involved which prevents experienced games from beating inexperience ones every time. Game time can vary from 2 minutes up to 20 but is usually around 15 min long. It is fairly easy to learn, and once players have gotten used to finding the relevant countries the game flows along quickly. The game has several in the series and they all work equally well but differently. Other editions in the 10 Days in... series can be combined to form 20 Days Around the World.
