*tee hee* at selecting Strategy as the category!
But seriously, how do you hold your shaker when you shake it? Do you have the extended portion down perhaps to allow ingredients to slide across the top of the pile and out? Do you hold the extended portion up to maybe better limit what comes out to one ingredient? Do you maybe hold it sideways for some reason that I cannot summon up a reason for?

Is the shape of the shaker purposeful? Or was it just the shake of container that happened to be cheaply available at the time?
What's your view?

Quite right to post it under "Strategy"

We just give it a shake before we season. No shaking during the seasoning motion (it's in the rules). We simply invert over the pan, hold it for a second or two if we wish, then it's over.

I find it disturbing how many people toss their shaker when the rules clearly state to invert completely and not to shake or jolt.
